Cat and Mouse

You know, buying a place is like a game of cat and mouse. Back and forth- stress, back and forth-more stress. It's like pouring a can of pop over ice too fast and the foam rises to the top and spills over the edges. Well that's how I feel right now. I'm the type of person who likes to be in control of everything and this is one thing I've learned I can't be in control of. You never know what the sellers are thinking, or who've they've talked to or what other buyers have offered when you hear "there's another offer on the house."
My soda pop is flat now! We finally bought a place!!And I'm nervous! I've been a City girl for so long and now...I'm moving to the burbs! Eep!

Quick post today! I'm so dang tired. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I sure had a busy one! We put our first offer on a house, but unfortunately was given the run around and didn't get it. Oh well, it wasn't the house for us! I'm excited to keep looking and find the perfect palace to call home with my lovey love!

Look what I found!

I was oh so happy when I went through every single item of clothing in my closet, touched every single hanger and found my favourite sweater. It's like a big weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Well not really. I mean there's worse things in the world right now than losing a beloved sweater. I appreciate the small things I guess.

Raincity and Eye Creams

So I'm not sure if it's about time to complain about the weather here in raincity Vancouver. Is it too early? The emails I get in my inbox regarding "Spring Collections" are taunting me. Hello! I can't wear that yet, are you crazy!

Oh and....

I'm terribly sorry for not keeping you up to date with my Eye Cream review like I said I would. 

I haven't noticed any dramatic changes over the past 4 weeks. However, I do notice in the morning I don't feel so puffy tired or look so puffy tired in the under eye area. In all, I do recommend this product. But hey, everyone is different and it may not work for you! When I am done the tube, I'll give you a real review.

Red Jeggings

Hi everyone! I wasn't going to post today, but some of my plans fell through (feel better soon Liza! Our Cappuccinos are waiting!) so I have time to now. Here's what I wore yesterday. As you can see, I got my red jeggings! I got these from American Eagle and I love them. I might go back soon and get more colours! They are very comfortable. I do recommend going a size down though. They are very stretchy.

This isn't what I was originally going to wear today. It's a nice substitution, yes, but when I went to retrieve my favourite F21 boyfriend sweater (this one), it wasn't in my closet. I haven't worn it in awhile. I think it's amazing how  my clothing can just up and walk away out of my closet. It's always when you know exactly what you want to wear. It's frustrating. And I'm sure it's frustrating for B watching me have a temper tantrum trying to find this missing sweater. Gosh I can be so silly sometimes.

So, I had to let go and find something else to wear. This is what I decided on in about 10 seconds. If it took longer, I'm sure I'd be Ms. Grumpy-don't-talk-to-me-today.

I never understood why people get so defensive when someone says you snore or they refuse to admit that they do and in turn, blame it on you. It might not even be about snoring. It could be about stealing all the blankets. No, it wasn't me that yanked them off you last night, you came over to my side of the bed and took them. No, It wasn't me snoring last night, that was you. Well ok, I must have been imagining that sound then. Geezus.

But seriously, why do people get so defensive about stuff they do in their sleep? 

For the record,  I do not believe I do any of the above.

Besides my Uncle's 50th birthday and the macaroni and cheese cook off I helped judge at my brother and sissy in laws place this past Saturday, I had a pretty chill weekend.

Urban Suburban

Yesterday, my fiance and I were pre-approved for a mortgage! This is very exciting. I'm a little tired of handing my hard earned money over to someone else. Lucky person they are I tell you. 

Survey says! Urban or Suburban. We should be on that show. Friends, if you don't know, Vancouver, BC is extremely expensive to live in. When you compare what you can get here to the what you can get in the suburbs, it's like night and day. It will be hard to leave this comfy expensive convenient city I call home. It will certainly be an adjustment when and if we decide to take the leap. 

For now, MLS and I will be bff's.

I finally got me some Converse! Some people may not like the whole running shoes with skirts or dresses, but I happen to, if they're Converse.  And that will happen a lot when it's warmer out.This lovely lady here from Sincerely, Jules rocks it. 

So my friends, you may be seeing these Converse a lot. Because I love 'em.

It's my wedding and I'll vent if I want to

I never realized planning a destination wedding would take so much out of you emotionally. From the melt downs that people have when you tell them where you're having it (guilt), to trying to decide who to invite (and who you have to leave behind - guilt), then having to hear that people can't make it (at the very last moment non the less). It's not a nice feeling. For one, why wouldn't people make the necessary sacrifices to make such an important day when you know you'd do the same for them?  Is this selfish of me to say? Some I can understand not being able to make it, others I just cannot. And it hurts. It hurts because I know if they tried they could have. 

You see, B and I have always known we wanted to get married in Maui. Even before we were engaged. This is our dream wedding. We've dreamed about it for years. And now it's finally going to happen. I just wish people could be as excited as we are about it instead of making excuses. 

We have a great group coming. And I'm so grateful for the friends and family who are doing whatever it takes to make it a special day for us. Even when I know they are having a tough time. They mean the world to us and we will be forever grateful.

It's been that kind of a day.

Eye cream update. Week 1

Well it's been a week since I first started using the Kiehl's under eye cream (post here). While I wasn't expecting to see a dramatic change after only a week, I do notice a little less puffiness in the morning. And I don't know if it's just my mind playing tricks on me, but it feels good when I put it on. Like it's working.

So far so good in my books.
