Busy bee

Romper: UO, Top: Garage, Tights: Gap, Shoes: Ardene

What a week it's been! Sorry I haven't had the time to post anything.
My birthday was this past weekend. I don't think I sat down until my afternoon nap at 4 pm on Sunday. Then, oh my gosh, they had a marathon on for My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding. Have you guys seen this show?? Wowzers. Very interesting. And the wedding dresses. Holy crow! Needless to say I stayed up waaaaay to late Sunday night. Fell flat on my face Monday after work.
Busy couple weeks ahead with my wonderful twin sister's bachelorette party and wedding! I've been quite the busy bee preparing for these events!
I do apologize ahead of time if my posting is infrequent. I'm sure most of you understand how busy weddings can be!

TOMS

Top: F21, Jeggings: Hollister. Shoes: TOMS, Sunnies: Ray Ban, Necklaces: Ardene/Le Chateau
These are my new shoes. Some say there are UGLY, but I looove them and I will be going back for different colours. These are one of the comfiest shoes I own AND when you buy a pair of TOMS they donate a new pair of shoes to a child in need. So if you're in the market for a new pair of shoes, I suggest you buy some TOMS.

Without an audience you have nothing

Sweater: Walmart, Top: F21, Leggings: H &M, Sandals/Belt: Ardene
It's been a rough last couple of days here in Vancouver as you may have heard by now. Very sad city after the Canucks lost. I'm not going to post any pictures of the mayhem that ensued immediately after the game. I'm still trying to understand how people can destruct our beautiful city to the degree they did and think it's ok. I was downtown when all this happened, but chose not to leave the apartment I was in and partake in the madness that was going on outside. I'm disappointed with anyone that did. Even if they were just watching. I'm sure if no one watched the criminals bust in store fronts and set cars on fire it wouldn't have been half as bad as it was.
Without an audience you have nothing.
I come downtown to work everyday and since this happened, I love this city even more. I appreciate it more. I care for it more. People woke up at the crack of dawn and started to clean the mess that people left behind them...in Canucks shirts and jerseys. When I walked down Granville Street at noon yesterday, it was spotless, except for a few smashed in windows that needed to be fixed. The last picture is of Hudson's Bay Company (The Bay) boarded up (the riot demolished it). The next day people were writing messages on it of how they felt about what occurred the night before.
It'll take a while for this city to get over what happened, but in the true spirit of a Canucks fan, we had an amazing season!

Vancouver IS a fun city

Dress: Billabong (a few years ago), Top: F21, Shoes: Walmart
I must say that I am sooo happy that I wore this dress today. After numerous cups of coffee and a ginormous lunch, I'm feeling like a pregnant person. I will wear this dress when I am pregnant.
I went to sleep way too late last night (for me - that's 11 - laugh away my friends) and I had a couple drinks which I never do during the week. So I was tired and hungry all day. I tell ya, I'm kinda looking forward to all this hockey craziness being over with so my life can go back to normal.Whoever said "Vancouver is a no-fun city" was clearly mistaken. We ARE fun.
Game 7 tomorrow. And the game is in Vancouver. I can only imagine what this city will be like. Win or lose this city will be bonkers.
Pictures to come Thursday!

What a night!

Maxi dress worn as skirt: H&M, Shirt: Garage, Wrap Top: Winners, Sandals: Ardene

The title says it all. The Canucks won last night over the Bruins and the party in downtown Vancouver was crazy. They are one game away from winning the Stanley Cup. It was an incredible game and an incredible party afterward. Above are photos taken on Granville Street. For those of you who don't know Vancouver, Granville Street is known as the "entertainment district." It's a street lined with bars, clubs and restaurants and stretches on for blocks. This entire street was shoulder to shoulder. Loved it.
Happy weekend all!

Gladiator

Skirt: Mantique (3 years ago??), Tank and Necklace: F21, Sandals: Ardene
I really do feel like I live in the era of the gladiator. AND I got them for 10 bucks. I wanted to get the blue, pink and black as well, but I thought that might be going over board. There are so many different kinds of gladiator sandals. I'll be patient and look for the perfect pairs. I'm so bad at that. When I find something I like, I want to buy all the colours. Sometimes I do. I need to diversify. Not buying all the colours in these sandals was my first step!
Sad loss for the Canucks this evening. I have to pop this in, the reffing is terrible.
Take care!
PS. I apologize for the awkward pulling down of the shirt picture. That's how I roll...

Game day

Top: F21, Skirt/Necklace: Le Chaeteau, Shoes: Shoe Warehouse

It's game day today my friends! Lemme tell ya, it's like the Olympics all over again here in Vancouver. Only it seems a little dirtier. After the game Saturday, we went downtown and it was a mess.  Garbage everywhere. Disgusting. I don't understand how people can liter that much and be ok with it. The picture below is what Granville Street looked like. Gross.

It's sunny!

It's that time of year again!

Cardi: Old Navy, Tunic (worn as top): Sissy's, Skirt: Le Chateau, Shoes: Walmart, Umbrella: London Drugs, Purse: Winners
I just realized this too! It's in the months ahead that I start to kind of obsess over watching the weather network several times a day on the 10's. The 10's are when the local forecast comes on. You see, living in Vancouver the weather can change over night which can potentially ruin everything (your outfit choice for the day). Every morning I sit at the edge of my bed, flip on the TV to channel 18 and check it. Sometimes it even gives me inspiration. Today it said showers, showers and more showers, typical. I decided to do my own thing today and wear bare, tights-free legs, and flats. Not particularity the best day, but who cares!
Ahhh, sometimes you have to make your own sunny weather here in Vancouver.
