Yes to the Dress!

Cardi: Target: Button Up: Old Navy, Skirt: F21, Tights: H&M, Boots: Famous Footwear
I cannot even believe I didn't tell you! This past Saturday, most of my favourite ladies and I went wedding dress shopping for me!! And I said yes to the dress! I actually picked the first one I tried on. I tried on about 10 different ones, but really lit up with the first one so I chose it. It's strange because it wasn't even what I imagined myself in. It's surreal to think that this is what I will be wearing when I  get married next year!
Can't wait!

LOL

Button Up: Aritzia, Tank: F21, Skirt: American Apparel, Tights/Shoes/Necklace: Ardene, Sunnies: Ray Ban
I was going to post yesterday, I really was, but I wanted to rush home so I could see B. He got back yesterday after being away for almost 3 days. I hate not having him around. I know, I know, almost 3 days isn't that long, but it is for me.
He had a lot of making me laugh to catch up on last night.

Puddles!

Sweater: GAP, Dress: Aritzia, Boots: Hunter, Tights: Ardene
I finally got to wear my Hunters today. And boy did I have a little skip in my walk today. Skipped right into those puddles. It down poured today in Vancouver. I looked out the window this morning and got so excited! Usually, this kind of weather would put a damper on my mood, but not today!
It's amazing what new boots can do to a person. Especially when you can walk right through them little puddles ponds on the sidewalk.
Rain rain come again! At least until I wear the heck outta these boots.

Twin Sisters

Top: Sister, Leggings: Aritzia, Shoes: Walmart
I just love being a twin. Day 3 of wearing something that my sister has given or lent to me. I think being a twin and having almost exactly the same body type is such a bonus. At 28, we still swap clothes with each other! The only thing we can't share is shoes. I was given the foot where the size is always sold out in stores (7.5 - 8). She has the dainty cute small foot (in case you're wondering what size that is, it's 6).

Today would have been the perfect day to wear my Hunters. It started pouring in the middle of the day!

Random Ramblings Day 2

Blazer: Dynamite, Dress: Sister, Shoes: Walmart, Sunnies: Ray Ban

What a glorious day it was today. Quite warm for the middle of September. I do think this might be the last day for these legs to show their naked face. On my list of items to get this fall/winter: many different kinds of tights. Different patterns, colours and textures. I love tights. I LOVE LOVE LOOOVE them. And I think they'll  go great with my new Hunters. Yes, yes they will. Now, if only the cooler wet weather would begin so I can starting wearing them!

Silver lining

Button Up: Sister, Skirt: Le Chateau, Shoes: Ardene
There is a silver lining to my lack of posting and crappy weekend. My Hunter Boots arrived in the mail today. Horrah! I snatched them at Shopbop on Friday. I'm looking forward to fall, winter and  spring now. Well actually fall and winter only because by Spring I am tired of Vancouver weather. I'm ready to take on those puddles and snow piles that I will encounter on my way to work.  I will no longer squish down the hallway at work with wet feet due to having no proper rain attire . Ew.

I spent the weekend in a tremendous amount of pain. Holy smokes! I ended up going to emergency. Spent 2.5 hours there hooked up to an IV. All the tests came back negative except for the ultrasound which they couldn't take because it was clooosed.  What hospital closes the radiology department on the weekends!? That's more of a statement, less of a question.  I'm not complaining really. We Canadians are very lucky with our health care system. I'm sure my little saunter into the emergency room would have left me broke in the US.  I did, however, have my ultrasound done today and well, I have to wait a week for the results! Aren't there a bajillion doctors in the hospital? Statement question

It's fall time! Which means it's pants time...

 Tunic Dress: Winners, Shoes: Ardene

Fall is definitely among us in Vancouver and while I do love fall and it's cozy sweaters and boots (the above photo is my local Ardene store), I do not love the fact that sometimes I will be required to wear pants. I hate wearing pants. Leggings are fine, but dress pants I dislike. Maybe it's because I've never found a pair that I love and feel comfortable in.  I'm definitely a skirts, dresses, leggings kinda gal and I am going to miss wearing them everyday.
I guess I am on a quest for the perfect pair of pants this fall. This is my fall wardrobe goal.
Yay...

Mistake

Dress: Aritzia, Sweater: Zara, Slipper shoes: Ardene
I HATE making mistakes. I made my first one in almost 2 years at work today. I forget to set an appointment for a client that had a discovery on THURSDAY!!!! Eek. It was completely my fault. Good thing, well not a good thing, but my boss wanted to adjourn it anyways as he just had knee surgery not to long ago. He is the most wonderful boss ever and I hated the fact that I had to tell him it was my mistake. I am pretty good a keeping a bijillion files organized and running smoothly, I was bound to slip it at some point right?

Shirt: My mama, Skirt: Le Chateau, Sandals: Ardene, Purse: Coach/gift, Sunnies: Ray Ban
I actually didn't wear this today. I had too much to do today to take outfit photos. And now I'm grumpy cause I'm stressed out at what seems to be everything in my life right now. Drats.
Peace out.

Grouse Grind

What a wonderful long weekend it was here in Vancouver. Plenty of sun, time with friends and the Grouse Grind. For those of you who live in Vancouver, you've probably heard of the "the grind". For those of you who haven't, this is an extremely hard "hike". It's a hike up a side of a mountain.  A steep mountain.  Here are the specs on the grind:
Length: 2.9 Kilometers (1.8 miles)
Elevation: 853 meters (2800 feet)
Total stairs:2830
Here are a couple of photos:
This is the quarter way mark. I find the first 1/2 is the hardest.
I'm about to fall over here...
And here we are at the top!
This is my second time doing the Grind and I can say it's a titch bit easier the second time around, but by no means is it easy at all.
If you want more info and pictures, this guy, Brian Taylor ,has a great story on it. If you're ever in Vancouver, or live here, I definitely recommend it. There is no other feeling comparable to the feeling you have when you make it to the top!
Hope you all had a nice weekend!

Reel it in

Dress: Joe (Very Old), Cardi Gift/Costa Blanca (Old), Shoes: TOMS
I feel like I should have my fishing rod as an accessory for this outfit with little hooks poking out of my pockets. You know what, it may not be my fav outfit, but I'm tired today.
The Vancouver riot review came out today.  It's all over the news and in the papers. Jeepers, it saddens me once again to see video footage of what happened to the city I live in. Drinking, drinking and drinking some more, is generally what they're saying and not enough law enforcement to control it. It's just gross.
